Valentines Day Crafting

OMG. I have so much to do. Today I studied how to measure the area of a polygon and how to find the radius of a circle. I was none too pleased. However, only three more days and I can forget about all that for a little bit...at least until Millersville tells me I have to retake it because I bombed the GRE's. This is usually how I look after a good bunch of hours studying.

Anyhow, on the brighter side of things it was 65 degrees today and it's December 28th! Yeah. I also sold three ornaments over the weekend. A cardinal, the hedgehog and a brown owl.
I suppose people are more excited about ornaments for their Christmas trees after Christmas. Hey, I'm not complaining. So post-Christmas, ornaments going...I've decided to start in on that pesky little holiday that arrives in February. Valentines Day! I post two items on my etsy. A Valentine Heart Wall Hang and a set of 3 heart gift tags.

Well, I've got a cardinal to make now. Yes, I have 4 available cardinals for purchase on etsy but don't actually have any cardinals made. They are made to order I guess.

I HAVE to get in on personalized gifts for children! With names like Dawson, Paige, Tyler and Liam!

Hmm. Back to work! A creators work is never done!

Christmas Carol and headache days

I have had a headache for the past week. I don't think there was a day that I did not have one. When I have headaches, I usually function pretty well...cause ADHD NEVER RESTS! Actually I took a couple naps today because it got pretty bad.

Anyhoo... it is now 2 am and I JUST finished the script for A CHRISTMAS CAROL. That's right folks!
This is a photo of me right after the script was done. Quite an accomplishment. I should win some sort of award, really. I mean, the things I do to make our worlds a little better....you can thank me later.

I took photo of me, making calls to actors and revising scripts...such a hard work for a creator. This not two minutes after the script hit the web. I mean, how do I do it?

I've been creating like crazy. Sewing mostly and studying. I blame this for my headaches.
I have sold a pack of my cat toys to someone in San Francisco! Yeah PokaDot Designs!

Tomorrow is a full day. At 10 am I am going to visit Just Children during Santa hours. EEK. Mary will be there with Kate so it will be a crazy morning.

At 11 I am off to babysit Juliette until 2. Then from 3 until 11 I will babysit Jake and his brother. I hope that Jake doesn't tell me he wants me to 'stop living' or throw boxes at my head tomorrow. FINGERS CROSSED!

Tis all for now. Keep Merry your hearts at Christmas. (Oh Liv....that's your line as Mrs Cratchet. So get ready! haha)

Warm weather and cat toys

Today was lovely. 65 degrees! I spent a lot of time outside with Jake. First, we fed uninterested ducks with moldy bread at the pond, then we raced a couple time, after that we read scary stories in the hammock and then biked around in cricles for a half hour.

Earlier, from 11 am to 300 studying for the GRE's and cringing and crying a little bit. Not so fun.

Here is a photo of me at the end of studying for math section of the GRE's.

Today I also finished up my first pack of cat toys. I cut enough mice out for another 6 packs...so get ready folks. I made a little prototype packaging design too.

Tomorrow I have to mail out my wall hang! eekk!

I have also been writing the script for 'New Revolution Films' first holiday film. My own rendition of A Christmas Carol.

Friday

Today is Friday. I shipped off my snow globe ornament today to some woman in Philadelphia! How close, I wonder if I can go visit it sometime. Today I sold one of my bird wall hangs! Yeah!

I was very happy about this that I changed my opening header on my etsy site. I tried to copy off this lady on Etsy named MooMama. I hope she likes it. haha

This weekend I hope to get photographatical! I want to make a pin hole camera out of an Altoids can. I'm excited about the idea of this. I hope it works and is cute. I also want to take some photos with my Hasselblad. Oh yes, the Hasselblad. I think it's about time. I also want to start making portraits...as I do not and never have done portraits. I think it is time.

So get ready for some seriously cool photography coming up in upcoming posts.
PEACE

Thursday

Today was a mess of rain and annoying drivers. I babysat from 1230 until 6, drove home and continued my boring day. I studied for the GRE's and discovered I have to relearn 12 years of math before New Years Eve! Yeah!
No photos, no announcements, nothing.

Oh I did sell my Snowglobe ornament on Etsy yesterday!

Figures and Announcements

Holla. I spent most of the morning and afternoon with a migraine so I wasn't as productive as I would have like to have been.
After a hot shower my headache started to drift away...but was still lingering as I set out to babysit. Aside from almost being smashed by a pick-up truck on the road I had a wretched day with the kid.

But I did accomplish some things. I made GRE most important word flashcards to study, scanned in some figures I drew

and made some fake save the date/baby announcements for the heck of it.

I'm actually thinking about going to bed before 5 am today! How about that?
Tomorrow is going to be an on-the-go day. From babysitting until 3 to teaching pottery and taking pottery until 10.
I hope that pesky headache doesn't show up tomorrow!

'Til then my blogger friends!

Portfolio and Photo Monday

I've been working on photographing my drawings and my pottery for my grad school portfolio.
I used my light box to take these photographs. Take a look:

Light Box Thursday

So why not start off this blog with a little 'homemade light box' fun?

So, today I noticed that when I attempt to take photographs of the felt work I do, pottery or any other object of my liking...the lighting is terrible! Last year I bought a light kit for portraits and even though I use these lights it's just too overpowering, washing out the object. So today I ended an era of bad lighting. I build myself a...LIGHT BOX!

Firstly, I took a large cardboard box. Cutting out the top and both sides of the box I then taped tracing paper over the sides, creating a nice white diffusing barrier for the light to pass through. I set my two large lights up on either side, creating even diffused lighting inside the box. Voila! Homemade light box. I was very proud, I must say. The only problem is that the box is quite large and delicate and so tough to store.

I was so excited that I photographed everything I could find. I am excited as now I will be able to take some very nice photographs of the felt objects I make. Yippee!
